Catch Some Wide Eye

Southern Snowfall

the woods wait in cold wonder
frozen in place at the roots of their lives
the dark hour has befallen us
all is hushed and dim
children press their noses to windows
drivers grip the wheel with knuckles white
sirens blanch in the distance
what is this?
what is this
white and flaky cold upon the ground?
alien rain
certain death
albino blessing
winter’s secret calling

You’re most welcome. 🙂 I am glad you came by.

  3. I do not like winter
but when i look at it
    through my hubby’s eyes,
    I can appreciate its beauty.

Again, thank you for your lovely
    winter poem.
    Stay warm!

    hugs
