Catch Some Wide Eye

Victoria

in a building as old as time
she sits and ponders her decline
in a structure encrusted with grime

the walls are never bare
painted faces staring where
wallpaper should have been

she is forevermore shut in
by colossal window views
in her cold and penitent pews
where sunlight should have been

the old house creaks and groans
finds no solace in her moans
in calm and peppered tones
as inner anarchy she hones
where reason should have been
