Catch Some Wide Eye

Good morning, sunshine. [You only get one lifetime.]

Eye death

i’m every bit the fool as you-
heart wide, strong stride-
the crust of trust still in my eyes-
don’t look, just ride-
when all their words just seem so true
no matter what you think to do,
it’s hard to brace for life’s surprise

i’m every bit the fool as you,
no matter what i think to do
the rust of trust still feeds me lies
and places teardrops in my eyes-
head drop, heart pop-
time for me to close up shop
sometimes loneliness is wise
to clear the past out of your eyes

  1. Really think the last two lines are perfect for the poem.

  2. This is very well composed.
I love poets that challenge themselves to be various…

Haha, yeah. My brother took one look at it, shook his head and said: “Let’s just say, rhyming isn’t your strong point.” That kinda made me laugh long and hard.

  4. I enjoyed this one so much
    heart wide…
    Peace,
    Laz
