Catch Some Wide Eye

Tongue

we must not forget
the alleys and crevices
that breathed our ancestral surges
where pleasure turned to pain
and luck sought out the survivors
we must not forget this place
where stillborns shut their drying eyes
and coffins are four feet too small
and one small child will bear the brunt
of progeny for one and for all

  1. This is so sad and so beautiful.

  2. A very powerful verse…quite liked this one.

  3. “the alleys and crevices
    that breathed our ancestral surges”
    strong images, very provoking.
