they scrape, they callous,
they scar, leap, twitch and shatter
strange little species, indeed.
“strange little species, indeed.” – Really, really like that.
Brings the poem together in such a fantastic way.
This caught my eye.
Coming of age. Troublesome but curiously joyous.
